Don Hawley.

There isn't much on this man that i could find, but i do know he was an avid triumph guy and won alot of races back in the 50'-60's.
i believe he is survived by his wife that still lives in Long Beach.
kinda felt like this man should be noticed, remembered, and respected as one of the old kings of his time.
here is all i could find of Don Hawley.
the first photo is in Gardena,CA 1956
Don is number 88,while the other rider is Chuck Cove, number 5x.
Enjoy.

For Sale....
dueling "Pan-joes"

spent a good 8-10 hours yesterday working on both pan motors.
got the 49 buttoned up (right)
got the cyl. stud issue dealt with on the 52FL (left) and a bunch of other little issues. still have to put the heads on,but i forgot them at my house....of course.
the 52 is for sale and is currently on ebay.
i might just pull the auction, keep it,or relist it,since all the negative issues have been worked out now.
enjoy
estate sale find.

the battle continues between man and annoying little shit!

this has been going on for months.....
there is this crow in my hood that has it out for me.
every time i am on the phone on the porch, this little bastard has the nerve to fly out of nowhere and land a couple feet away from me and SCREAM at me.
seriously...to the point i can't even hear the person on the phone with me.
every F****N TIME.
then i go inside and he'll fly up to the window and keep doing it.
i'm going to try and set a trap for this smart ass bird.
i have to shut the blinds when the phone rings so he doesn't see me talking.
i feel like a prisoner in my own house.
rant over.
more from Heyitsnate
part 1 of Heyitsnates "Harman" info
i also thought you would want to know this info....a friend asked me
to help restyle his shovelhead.i mentioned i had the same early
paughco frame, and he said nope-that's a john harman frame.he got the
frame,a motor,.frame jigs and front end jigs from john harmans
daughter when he lived in sacramento.he since has sold the jigs and
motor, but he still has that frame.i think its interesting that most
people dismiss this style of frame assuming its a paughco, but the
truth is that harman made a lot of these stock rake frames.its unclear
who came out with it first. also i think theres a misunderstanding
with the neck gusset.i've heard a lot of people gripe about how it
looks bulky, and this is true if a deep tunnel tank or fat bobs are
used.it just looks like a blob of sheetmetal.however,if you are using
a low tunnel or mounting a tank above the top tube it breaks up the
space and looks pretty good.it bothers me when people give an opinion
because they heard someone else's opinion not knowing why the original
person came to that opinion, but thats just my worthless
opinion!-latey-natey
